Stuff to take with you on your metal detecting trip

Every metal detectorist knows that an extra set of batteries is the single most important thing to take with you when going out detecting.

Ok, that is the MOST important thing, but what about the rest?

I’ve spent some time asking people and reading about what they usually take on their detecting trip, and have compiled a list of stuff to take with you, so here it goes.

Behold! The List!

THE BASIC DETECTORIST’S EQUIPMENT

A large backpack (65 liters)
Your metal detector
Any additional coils
Batteries (detector, pinpointer and gps)
Headphones
Pinpointer
~~GPS~~ An iPhone find recording app like DigMate.
A sturdy spade
A smaller digger or large screwdriver
Finds bag
Body vest with lotsa pockets
Gloves

SAFETY AND EMERGENCY

An electronic mosquito/klop repellent
A hunters knife/swiss knife
A lighter or matches
Duct tape
A first-aid kit
Money
A led headlamp
Small plastic zip-bags
Paper tissues
Rags (for dumping earth back into hole, cleaning equipment)
Plastic bags
Drinking water
An energy bar or something similar

OTHER

A hair band if you’ve got long hair
Meds – if you got any

Finally I managed to put together my first guitar. It is a modified 1994 Peavey predator modified with Gotoh vintage tuning machines, bone nut, custom pickguard mounted with a single DiMarzio Super Distortion bridge pickup wired with a tone pot and a volume pot also serving as a coil splitting circuit switch.

If I wanted to express what I feel now at this moment, I would probably need to change the MPAA rating of my blog. I will keep it mild.

I am pissed at the innumerous companies, clubs, events, eccetera that use a person profile for promoting their activity. Hello, there are pages and groups for that! Of course I am talking about Facebook. But I wish I could only talk about Facebook. Sadly some of those entities found their way into Google+ as well. Isn’t that nice?

So, tell me, what are your experiences on the subject? Anger? Suicide thoughts? Shruggin of shoulders perhaps?

Whatever, I did my part. I complained. I contacted G+’s staff about the problem. Now I wait.

“Update/Update All” Button Not Working in iOS

If you have trouble updating your iPhone, iPad or iPod apps so that when you click the Update or Update All button nothig happens, try freeing some space on your device first. This is obviously a bug that needs to be addressed.
